Coutts London Fashion Awards drinks last night, today BBC Radio Oxford (at 10.45am) chatting about dressing for your age - while simultaneously driving to a meeting in Milton Keynes with Bourne Leisure, and then in the afternoon dressing a celebrity for the red carpet...

I will be on BBC Breakfast TV talking about airbrushing in advertising and magazines. The issue that has raised its head this time is that of the photograph of an overly-zealous-airbrushing and unrealistic photo of Twiggy as the face of an anti -ageing face cream.

I believe that airbrushing is ok when used conservatively, to gently enhance, sharpen or tweak. But not when used to promote unrealistic images for children, teens, young women, or indeed any women to aspire to and thereby believe that "PERFECTION" is all. No one is perfect- certainly no celebrity I've ever styled!

ALL women can make the best of themselves with clever dressing, well- fitting lingerie, makeup tricks and hair styling, whatever their age, shape and size. The message from magazines and advertisers should be about the "feel good" factor, not one that increases insecurities to achieve the impossible

I was sent a set of the brand new Nicky Clarke Straighteners to try out on my clients. These irons are by strange coincidence exactly the same deep red colour as my SONY VAIO laptop from which I present my "Discover the New You" makeover masterclasses.

This deep metallic red is my own branding colour - so already I am loving the straighteners. As a stylist, it's cool when everything coordinates and looks wonderful together!

They do have a very classy and expensive look and performed well, with a switch to more efficiently straighten fine or thick hair and a super-fast heat-up. Apparently the recommended retail price is ?89.99. They could be the new competition to GHD's.......

I was the "celebrity makeover" prize auctioned at the Vision Charity Ball at Grosvenor house.

As it was last Saturday night I absolutely HAD to Sky Plus the semi-final of X Factor! Still not sure who I would like to win..... maybe little cute Jo!

The Vision Charity supports visually impaired and dyslexic children and does a fantastic job. It is fantastic to be able to support and raise money for charities that help children. David Ginola was there as the main Celebrity patron -he is soooo good looking. Rory Bremner was the host.

Once again I find myself over-stressed, worn out and run-down so I am at Grayshott health spa for a 3-day quickie break.

When I arrive I am still at London pace but after a day I become slower and relaxed. My days include a swim, steam cabinet, massage, and choices of gym, vibro-gym, pilates, tai-chi or relaxation classes.

A variety of extra treatments that I have also treated myself to- include hypnotherapy to stop late night snacking, Reiki (healing) and cranial osteopathy. What draws me back repeatedly to Grayshott is that whatever treatment I choose, the therapist is always fantastic. I have found that often some of the glitziest health spas don't have great therapists as they seem to provide career launch pads for young beauty therapists. Grayshott is definitely not like this and many of the senior therapists have been there for over 10 years or more.

Food is also completely delicious and although presented as though it's a 5* dining experience everything is carefully cooked with attention to health, calorie and portion control.

I dropped into the Troubadour, Old Brompton Road London last night to see a new comedy singing and impressionist act Georgea Blakey. Hosting the evening and filling in between her character outfit changes was David Whitney. He was a completely brilliant stand-up comedian who managed to combat and rebuff the audience heckling from a rather inebriated "Hurrah-Henry"-posh table at the front row. He had great one-liners and timing.

Georgea's songs were particularly funny as her comedic prowess was noticeable, not only in her characters that included Jordan and Kate Middleton but in the writing of her quite naughty song words. Very brave when your mum and dad is in the audience too!

Watch this space. She is definitely worth seeing when she does another show.

What is the allure of buying into the Jimmy Choo brand? Why do girls queue round the block?
Are they worth it?

Why has H&M been so successful with their Designer partnerships with Karl Lagerfield, Stella McCartney, Victor and Rolf, Cavalli, Comme des Garcons and Mathew Williamson and now Jimmy Choo?

Should politicians of a certain age jog? If so, what should they wear? Why do they all get it so wrong? Do they consider it a photo-opportunity or keep fit?

If it?s really a mission to keep fit why don?t they wear the appropriate running clothes- with proper jogging shoes and new hi-tec comfortable breathable sportswear? If it?s a photo opportunity, have they considered what they look like?

Either way, elasticated trackie bottoms and an old aertex top is so wrong Mr Brown, as are surfing style shorts, fleece and a beanie (Mr Johnson) and too short shorts (Mr Cameron)?..

I went along to this seminar at the V&A lecture theatre that examined the history, design and ideas surrounding women's tailoring. The lecture coincided with the 125th anniversary of Jaeger - who would have thought it - 125 years! The afternoon was fascinating with guest speakers including Carol Alayne, a Savile Row tailor, Jaeger buyers and designers and a London College of Fashion tutor..

"Women should have the same opportunities to invest in their working wardrobes as they do in their careers. Image matters!" This happens to be the theme of my corporate workshops I hold.

I find that women would like to wear a "sort of uniform" as do men, but one that shows their personality and style. First impressions are so important.

Alex Proud?s new club opened last week in the City and I went along to the launch party. We had a great evening there watching Burlesque, cabaret and a fantastic jazz band- actually more of a mini 1920?s style orchestra who were fantastic. We danced the night away, in between sampling the Dinner Menu. This included everything from oysters to fish and chips and banoffee pie. Delicious!

My friend who works in the city loved the venue and mentioned that he would absolutely be returning there when he is entertaining clients.

I dropped into the GLAM show at Earls Court, that was on just for the weekend. You could road test all sorts of girlie stuff to turn yourself into a glamour puss. Everything from beauty, makeup and anti-ageing treatments, fashion shows and advice, and tips for hair and style. You could go in feeling "Sunday slobby" and leave transformed top to toe as there were clothes on sale as well!

A great way to spend a Sunday, whatever your age. I bumped into a mum with her young teenage daughter who had just auditioned for the new series of TV's Britain's got Talent. They told me they had both loved visiting the show.
