When there are so many electric shavers on the market, how can you choose which one?

Well this Philips Nivea for men electric shaver is so clever. It comes with NIVEA FOR MEN shaving conditioner that is dispensed directly onto the skin for a moisturizing and smooth shave. It has a "Click and Go" System that automatically dispenses lotion into the back of the shaver.  It's also waterproof so that it can be used in the shower or rinsed clean under the tap for easy care.

I was sent a set of the brand new Nicky Clarke Straighteners to try out on my clients. These irons are by strange coincidence exactly the same deep red colour as my SONY VAIO laptop from which I present my "Discover the New You" makeover masterclasses.

This deep metallic red is my own branding colour - so already I am loving the straighteners. As a stylist, it's cool when everything coordinates and looks wonderful together!

They do have a very classy and expensive look and performed well, with a switch to more efficiently straighten fine or thick hair and a super-fast heat-up. Apparently the recommended retail price is ?89.99. They could be the new competition to GHD's.......

After a stressful week and a drive from London down to my cottage in the Isle of Wight I road-tested Sarah, a visiting beauty therapist from "RELAX".

Roc launched a special free skincare analysis for women at their pop-up anti-ageing boutique, La Dermacie de RoC®  last week so I went along prior to the opening to see how my skin was faring.  Actually it seemed that my skin was doing quite well, when I looked at my results. Breakfast meetings and new product launches are always an interesting start to the day, and yesterday I breakfasted in Selfridges personal shopping private dining room at the launch of the new QMS "medicosmetics" skin care treatment range that claims to help repair and rejuvenate skin. These products with special formulas help collagen penetrate the skin. This German brand is created by Dr Eric Schulte, who was a reconstructive plastic surgeon for severe facial and burn wound victims. His range of products, from the photographs shown, can perform miracles in the 120 days that it takes for skin to rejuvenate and repair itself (apparently our skin repair system works in 40 day cycles and after three of these cycles we will see optimum effects). So I am looking forward to my newly youthful renaissance in 120 days and will keep this blog updated on my progress. The range launches exclusively in Selfridges on the 20th August and Dr Schulte will even be on hand to answer your queries.

I found that this product really does work. I am always looking for non-steroid creams to recommend to my clients and this is my latest find. I usually recommend Rosa Mosqueta (rose-hip) oil to help eczema and dry skin conditions, but this cardiospermum gel is brilliant and the cardiospermum cream actually contains the rosa mosqueta too.
